Whitefish, MT

So, there wasn't a whole lot to blog about in Cayley/High River, AB; we were busy and there wasn't a whole lot to do. We had fun, don't get me wrong but I don't think blogging about my tour partner taking me to get a pedicure is the type of stuff that belongs on my travel blog.

BUT, today is Sunday, which means a whole new town. Today, it also means a new country because we are back in the States!

We drove to the States via the Canadian Rockies, reaching an elevation of at least 4,500ft -- thank you, modern technology. We could have driven via Highway 2 and gone through Glacier National Park but that road is notoriously bad and since we couldn't get a clear weather report, we went up into the mountains. Don't feel too sorry for us yet though because Whitefish, MT (our current location) is just 30 minutes from said national park and we should be hitting it up this week.

Funny story about the drive... We went through British Columbia without any clue that that's what we'd done. I had checked map after map to make sure I knew we were going and even when we passed a sign that said entering British Columbia, I was not convinced. We stopped for lunch and quickly found out that we had, in fact, crossed into a separate province. Oh well, have no fear, BC, we'll be back.

Crossing back into the US was about ten billion times simpler than going into Canada had been as it lasted roughly four seconds. We aren't criminals -- what a surprise!

So now, we are in Whitefish, which is a pretty darling little ski village. It is most definitely populated -- the Starbucks count is up to three -- but has TONS of local stuff for us to dig into! Including the winter carnival this weekend.

Psyched to be back in America for another week! Peace and love.
