Glacier National Park

Do you know what goes well with a long day of rehearsal? I long car ride!

Ok, so it wasn't that long, only about 33 miles to today's field trip, Glacier National Park!

Going-to-the-Sun Road is the Park's most famous road, but it is also mostly closed in the winter. Only the first 10 miles of the road are open but we decided that it was worth it to just get a glimpse of the fabled national park. $15 to go 10 miles? Yup, mhm, worth it!

Our homestay described Going-to-the-Sun Road as the most beautiful road in America and I have the distinct feeling that they were right.

After Glacier National Park, we drove back to Whitefish and went to the Buffalo Cafe for dinner. I did something blasphemous here and ordered a *gasp* garden burger like a friggin' rabbit (my vegetarian tour partner is brainwashing me). Said garden burger was actually pretty good BUT I am still a traitor to my people.

Unlike our past few residencies, there is lots to do in Whitefish! We're looking at going dog sledding this week and we're definitely going to a yoga class soon. Updates to come!

P.S. Do you know what's great? Whitefish has a lot of great restaurants, but it's really great when the school you're working at invites you to lunch AND that lunch is delicious, which is exactly what happened to do. We'll be eating school lunch for the rest of the week, thank you very much!
